130 sign-ups to #BuyTheBuds in just 48 hours

We’ve had a brilliant reaction to the launch of our #BuyTheBuds campaign this weekend – with 130 people signing up in just 48 hours.

Our new-look website went live on Friday evening and we had more than 80 people pledging their support by Saturday lunchtime, with a further 50 by Sunday evening – thank you to everybody who has signed up so far.

Saturday was a busy day for the SMISA committee, with our AGM at lunchtime followed by a public meeting and Q&A with Gordon Scott and SMISA chair George Adam.

We were then outside the Paisley 2021 Stadium before the traditional derby-day skelping of Morton, handing out #BuyTheBuds leaflets.

Our thanks go to everybody who came along to the meeting and particularly to those members who volunteered to help us hand out leaflets at the game.

We’ve had a lot of people getting in touch with questions – so although we haven’t managed to answer everybody yet we will aim to do so soon.

We’ve been delighted with the reaction so far – but if we are going to hit the target of 1,000 we need lots more fans to sign up.

And although we will be doing our best to reach people, we need those of you who have already signed up to help us spread the word and make sure as many Saints fans as possible can be part of this one-off chance to make sure we and nobody else can own the future of our club.

We've only got a limited time to do this...so let's keep the momentum going!

#BUYTHEBUDS Public Meeting Sat 16th April

As you will already know, there has been major progress of late on our joint bid with former St Mirren director Gordon Scott for the majority shareholding in St Mirren.

As a result of that we are holding a public meeting on Saturday at 12.30pm in The Wynd Centre, School Wynd, Paisley.

Existing SMISA members are being asked to come along at noon for the trust’s AGM, where we will deal with routine trust business.

Non-members should join us at 12.30pm for a presentation and Q&A on the bid, where you can put your questions to Gordon and the SMISA committee.

Be aware capacity in the venue will be limited, so in the event of exceptional demand entry will be first come, first served. See you there!
